Jazzing Up The Garden With Color And Contrast

The Town and Country Garden Club of Newtown will host its next meeting and public program on Wednesday, May 14, at 7 pm, at Newtown Senior Center, 14 Riverside Road in Sandy Hook. Author and landscape designer Karen Bussolini will be presenting a program titled “Jazzing Up the Garden with Color and Contrast.”

Ms Bussolini has written a book with Jo Ann Gardner entitled Elegant Silvers: Plants for Every Garden. The women have selected and vividly illustrated the best candidates for a broad range of growing and design needs, examples of which will be part of Ms Busolini’s talk.

Ms Bussolini has been a gardener for as long as she can remember. She originally trained as a painter and had a career as an architectural photographer before specializing is garden photography, writing, and lecturing.  She is an experienced lecturer on horticulture and design.

She recently finished photographing a book entitled The Homeowners Complete and Tree and Shrub Handbook, and her list of accomplishments including gardening and garden design including containers, espalier, hardscape, herbs, landscaping, native plants and topiary.
