Griffin Physician To Discuss Digestive Problems

DERBY — Oh, that burning in my chest! Is it GERD? What about that indigestion? Is it an ulcer? The chronic recurrence and persistence of heartburn, indigestion, and other digestive ailments disrupt the lives of many Americans and, left untreated, can lead to serious health problems.

“Burn, Baby, Burn: Do I Have GERD? Do I Have an Ulcer?” will be presented Thursday, January 22, at 6:30 pm, at Griffin Hospital by Dr Harold M. Schwartz, board certified gastroenterologist.

In this discussion, Dr Schwartz will describe symptoms, causes, and the latest treatment of such digestive disorders as gastroesophogeal reflux, peptic ulcer disease, and dyspepsia and answer related questions.

This free community talk is part of an ongoing Health Empowerment Series by Griffin Hospital designed to inform participants about some of the latest treatments and encourage them to play a more active role in managing their own health.

To register, call Griffin Hospital at 203-732-1511 or visit www.griffinhealth.org/events.
