The Zombies Are Coming!
This summer, the stage is set: it is the libraryâ¦only it is different. The library is now a Zombie Research Facility and Laboratory. Meet the lab assistant, a trained specialist with some very unusual skills. Please check in, and begin the process of changing over.
On Monday, July 30, from 3 to 4:30 pm, young people in rising grades 6 to 12 are invited to create a Zombie alter-ego, with Caroline Wilcox. Ms Wilcox is a professionally trained makeup artist, and an avid reader whose love of fantasy and science fiction came from books about mythology. Fairies, vampires, werewolves, and zombies all fire her imagination.
 Using professional stage makeup and some very ordinary items, the lab instructor will demonstrate the transformation techniques. Participants will practice creating burns, wounds, scabs, bruises, and more. Get ready for the gore. The makeup is FDA approved and formulated for easy removal with soap and water. Student palettes are prepared by the instructor for single use only.
The supplies are provided, but it promises to get messy. This is a hands-on workshop, so ragged, zombie clothing is recommended.
Then walk amongst the living, the lucky ones, who find shelter at the library. Parents and friends are welcome to watch the zombie actors crawl or stumble by. Please note that no personal contact will be allowed.
Zombie antidote instruction will be freely distributed, post-event.
