Auto Damaged
A vehicle that was parked in the driveway at 1 Homer Clark Road was damaged when another vehicle struck it. The offending driver left the scene sometime on June 12 or 13, police said. The vehicle that did the damage is probably white or light gray. Police said the damage may have been caused by one of the autos that were parked along the street for a party in that area. People with information about the incident are asked to contact police at 426-5841.
Car Vs Bicycle
Motorist Linda Ballerini, 56, of 26 Riverside Road, who was driving a 1992 Chevrolet Lumina, was traveling westward across Main Street from Church Hill Road toward West Street about 6 pm June 10, as bicyclist David Dent, 46, of Whiting, Maine, was traveling southward on Main Street along the southbound road shoulder and passing stopped southbound vehicles on the right, police said.
The bicycle then drove into the Chevrolet, police said. Dent received minor cuts in the mishap. Police verbally warned Ballerini for failure to grant the right of way after a stop. Police verbally warned Dent for passing on the right.
Alcohol Charges
Police report they spotted a large gathering of youths in a commercial parking area behind 22 Church Hill Road on the night of June 18, so they stopped to investigate. The propertyâs owner has asked police to curb loitering there, police said.
On investigating, police charged Elizabeth Scharf, 18, of 56 Great Ring Rd with possession of alcohol by a minor. Police charged Christopher Sheehan, 19, of 6 Clear View Dr with possession of alcohol by a minor, possession of alcohol in a motor vehicle by a minor, and third degree forgery. Police charged William Mantz, 17, of 9 Meadow Rd with possession of alcohol by a minor and with possession of alcohol in a motor vehicle by a minor.
All three youths were released on promises to appear in court on July 7, police said.
South Main Crash
Motorist Manuel Andre, 56, of Trumbull, who was driving a 1992 Dodge Caravan minivan southward on South Main Street about 4:45 pm June 10, stopped and was struck from behind by motorist David Watson, 21, of Monroe, who was driving a 1991 Honda Accord, police said.
Maria Andre, 53, who was a passenger in the Dodge, reported neck pain, police said. Police issued Watson an infraction ticket for following too closely.
Mitsubishi Vs Chevrolet
Motorist Kyle Vanscotter, 18, of 22 Underhill, who was driving a 1995 Mitsubishi Galant, was leaving a commercial driveway at 75 South Main Street to turn left onto southbound South Main Street at about 1:30 pm June 18, when the Mitsubishi collided with a northbound 1991 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Adam Harvey, 19, of 68 Appleblossom Lane, police said.
There were no injuries. Police issued Vanscotter an infraction ticket for failure to grant the right of way.
BMW Vs Toyota
Motorist Kelly Corrigan, 17, of 4 Driftway Drive, who was driving a 1995 Toyota Camry southward near 116 South Main Street about 1:23 pm June 19, stopped suddenly when a southbound noncontact vehicle stopped abruptly in front of her, police said.
Southbound motorist Elizabeth Cochrane, 42, of 17 Kelly Court, who was driving a 1997 BMW 328-I, then struck the rear end of the Toyota, police said. There were no injuries. Police issued Cochrane an infraction for following too closely.
Church Hill Accident
Motorist Carol Swift, 71, of Huntington, who was driving a 2002 Nissan Altima westward near 66 Church Hill Road at about 5 pm June 17, made a turn and collided with eastbound motorist Seidat Iljazi, 52, of Waterbury, who was driving a 1992 Honda Accord, police said. Â
There were no injuries. Police issued Swift a written warning for making a restricted turn.
Honda Vs Honda
Police report a collision between two Hondas in front of the Blue Colony Diner on Church Hill Road about 3:13 pm June 17. There were no injuries.
The accident involved Manuel Reisman, 84, of Cherry Hill, N.J., who was driving a 2004 Accord, and Kevin Pheasey, 16, of 39 Yogananda Street, who was driving a 1999 Civic, police said. Police issued Reisman a written warning for making a restricted turn.
Wasserman Way
A two-vehicle accident occurred on Wasserman Way about 12:35 pm June 17, police said.
Motorist Julia Morrissey, 46, of 61 Osborn Hill Rd, who was driving a 2004 Jeep Liberty westward, was stopped in a âleft turnâ lane and was struck from behind by Carol Lockwood, 65, of 9 Pine Street, who was driving a 1998 Nissan Sentra, police said.Â
Lockwood was treated at the scene by Newtown ambulance volunteers, police said. Police issued Lockwood a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
Moving Violations
Police said they stopped motorist Ivanilda Euriques, 28, of Danbury for two minor motor vehicle violations on Main Street on June 19.
On investigating, police charged Euriques with failure to have a taillamp, failure to have an illuminated rear marker plate, and driving without a license.
Police additionally charged Euriques with third-degree forgery for carrying a fraudulent international driverâs license.
Police released Euriques for a July 7 court appearance.
Route 25 Accident
A two-vehicle accident occurred on Route 25 about 6:30 pm June 20.
Police report that motorist Nick Margoulas, 17, of 4 Bishop Circle, who was driving a 1992 Dodge Caravan minivan northward, looked away from and the road and when his gaze returned to it he spotted a stopped northbound 2003 Honda CRV driven by Thomas Ozimkoski, Jr, 35, of Bethel. The Honda had stopped for another vehicle, police said.
The Dodge then struck the rear end of the Honda. There were no injuries. Police issued Margoulas a written warning for following too closely.
MV Charges
Police report they stopped motorist Bethany Swett, 36, of 71 High Rock Road at about 7:30 pm June 20 on Church Hill Road to investigate.
Police said they charged Swett with driving while under suspension, driving an unregistered vehicle, and driving without automotive insurance. Police released Swett for a July 7 court appearance to answer the charges.
License Charge
Police report they stopped motorist Theresa Lagerstedt, 38, of New Fairfield on Wasserman Way early on the morning of June 22 to investigate. Police said they charged Lagerstedt with driving with a suspended license. Police released her for a July 8 court appearance.
Toyota Hits Chevrolet
Eastbound motorist Mario Mejorado, 39, of Pawling, N.Y., who was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Impala on Church Hill Road, slowed down for traffic about 11:55 am June 15, and was struck from behind by Mary Butler-Sibley, 57, of Fairfield, who was driving a 1997 Toyota Camry, police said. There were no injuries. Police issued Butler-Sibley a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
Golf Cart
Someone on June 12 or 13 stole a motorized golf cart from 42 Bennetts Bridge Road and then crashed it at 3 Sutherland Drive, police said. Police are investigating and ask anyone with information on the crime to contact them at 426-5841 or 270-8888.

Sandy Hook Crash
Two Chevrolets collided at the intersection of Pole Bridge Road and Route 34 at about 7:20 am June 16, police report.
The accident involved motorist Paul Tani, 33, of 45 Philo Curtis Road, who was driving a 1994 Astrovan, and motorist Donna Witkowski, 42, of 1 Crown View Drive, who was driving a 1991 Cavalier, police said.
The Astrovan was attempting to turn left from the end of Pole Bridge Rd onto eastbound Route 34 and its driver thought that the Cavalier, which was westbound on Route 34, had stopped to let the Astrovan turn, police said. The two vehicles then collided. There were no injuries. Police issued Tani a written warning for a stop sign violation.
Marijuana
After learning that police held a warrant for his arrest, John Straniti III, 33, of 1 Partridge Lane, turned himself over to police on June 21 and was charged with possession of marijuana and with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police said the charges stem from a May 8 incident at 100 Church Hill Road in Sandy Hook Center. Police released Straniti on a promise to appear July 1 in Danbury Superior Court.
Vendor
Newtown police said that after learning that Christopher J. McDaniel, 27, of Baton Rouge, La., was being held in custody by the Madison Police Department, they went to Madison on the night of June 21 and charged McDaniel on a warrant with failure to respond to a violation and with vending without a permit. The original charge stems from a 2002 incident, police said. Police released McDaniel on $100 bail for a July 8 court appearance.
Threatening
Police report that after receiving a complaint from a female victim, they investigated and charged Kimberly Miller, 18, of 21 Indian Hill Road on June 22 with threatening and with breach of peace.
Police said the charges stem from threats allegedly made by Miller during a telephone conversation. Police released Miller on a promise to appear July 7 in Danbury Superior Court.
Liquor Store Break
Police report that they charged two 14-year-old boys each with third-degree burglary, sixth-degree larceny, and criminal mischief following an incident early on the morning of June 23.
Police said that while on patrol at about 12:30 am, they saw the two youths running away from Church Hill Wines and Spirits at 20 Church Hill Road. Police said the window of the store had been broken with a rock and the two youths had stolen a 12-pack of beer from the premises. The burglary charge is a felony.
Because the youths are under age 16, their identities are shielded by state law. Both youths were released on promises to appear July 12 in Danbury Juvenile Court, police said.

DUI Charge
At about 11 pm on June 23, police spotted a 1997 Dodge Caravan minivan drive through a red traffic signal at the intersection of Wasserman Way and South Main Street, so they stopped the driver to investigate.
Police said they stopped motorist Michael Peterson, 23, of Bethel on South Main Street and performed field sobriety tests, which he failed. Police said they charged Peterson with driving under the influence and with failure to obey a traffic control signal.
After processing the arrest, police released Peterson on $50 bail for a July 7 court appearance.
