Bruce John Sisko
Bruce John Sisko
Loving Brother
And Friend
Bruce John Sisko, 57, of the Sandy Hook section of Newtown, died December 29, at the Yale-New Haven Hospital after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Bridgeport and was raised with his family in Fairfield on a small farm.
Mr Sisko attend St Anthonyâs School and Notre Dame High School in Fairfield. He was proud of himself as a self-employed business person being involved in various trades throughout his lifetime. He lived for 18 years in Easton, and most recently moved to Sandy Hook, where he lived on beautiful Lake Zoar before becoming critically ill.
On most Friday nights, he and his special friend would be at the Sycamore Drive-in in Bethel, and in Monroe at the Village Square, proudly exhibiting an antique car. He tried his hand at everything, even playing his keyboard. However, he was happiest behind a big truck, with tractors, antique cars, motorcycles, and even snowmobiling. If it had four wheels, he was in his glory. County fairs were his absolute favorite when he participated in âtractor pullsâ with his antique tractor, winning many ribbons. Yearly, on Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day, Mr Sisko could be found driving a favorite antique tractor in the Barnum Festival Parade in Bridgeport, and the Easton and Newtown parade processions.
Mr Sisko was a good brother, and a kind friend to all. He will be loved and always remembered as âBrucieâ by those closest to him.
Survivors include his devoted brother, Joseph R. Sisko and his wife, Linda; his nephew, Douglas Sisko and his wife, Rosanne; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Gloria (Angle) Sisko.
The family extends thanks to all who cared for Mr Sisko during his illness.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service, Saturday, January 16, at 11:30 am, in the Larson Funeral Home, 2496 North Avenue, Bridgeport. Burial will be private, at the convenience of the family. Friends may call on Saturday from 10:30 am until time of service.
