Time (And Money) Well Spent

To the Editor:

On Thursday, March 4, I had the privilege of attending Newtown Middle School’s production of The Music Man. The cast and crew gave a wonderful performance. This is my fifth attendance at a middle school production. I am awestruck by the talent, poise, and self confidence displayed by all of the students whatever their role.

The credit for this must be given to the teachers, Susan Lang, Jennifer Sinal, and Stephanie Glynn, who are able to bring out these qualities and gifts in our young people. I am always impressed with the all-inclusiveness of the production. The teachers give unselfishly of themselves to our children and deserve our applause. I would be remiss without extending credit to Principal Diane Sherlock who is always on hand to support both students and faculty. Newtown, if you are wondering where your education tax dollars are going, rest easy; they are well spent.
