New Workshops At Julie’s Piano

Julie Cook, the director of Julie’s Piano Workshop, has announced two new summer music programs for children, in addition to private piano lessons.

“Piano Lessons for Two” is for students who would like to explore duet playing. Each student will be paired with another, and the two will share a one-hour lesson, learning how to play a variety of pieces. The activity provides an excellent way to sharpen listening skills and encourage steady rhythm. Students who sign up for this program must be in a level two method book or higher.

“Creative Music Quest” is a series of one-hour classes to be held throughout the summer for groups of four to six piano students, ages six through 12. A variety of activities will include creative music theory, songwriting, exploring music styles from Baroque to boogie, music history and composers, and more, with a different emphasis each week. Anyone wishing more information regarding these programs may call Julie Cook at 426-7924. Julie’s Piano Workshop is on the second floor at 111 Church Hill Road in Sandy Hook.
