KAA Elected Artists Invitational, Purcell’s Sculpture Now On View

KENT — The Gallery at Kent Art Association is currently hosting its “Elected Artists’ Invitational Exhibition” and a one-artist exhibition. More than 100 paintings and sculpture are on display until Sunday, October 16, including oils, watercolors, pastels, graphics and sculpture.

Participating artists are members of Kent Art Association and have achieved Elected Artist status by being juried into several shows and have been elected by their peers. Many prize-winning artists from CT and adjacent states are represented in the show, which was chaired by Ruth Newquist, with Ann Harriet Carew serving as co-chair.

The solo show features work by the sculptor Patrick Purcell, who was selected last year as having the best work in an elected artist show. Mr Purcell is a noted sculptor and jewelry maker. He is known for his creativity and ability to work with all materials from plastic chairs to pewter and silver.

Regular gallery hours are Thursday through Sunday, 1 to 5 pm. For more information visit KentArt.org or call 860-927-3989 to 5 pm. The Gallery at the Kent Art Association is at 21 South Main Street (Route 7).
