Youth Softball Evaluations/Tryouts

Newtown Babe Ruth Travel Softball will hold mandatory player evaluations at Newtown High School’s main gym on March 29 prior to tryouts. Evaluations for registered players is as follows:

U10 Division from 10 am to noon; U12, 14 and 16 divisions from noon to 2 pm; and U8 Division from 2 to 3 pm. Evaluations are not necessary for the Student Division (ages 6 and 7).

Tryouts: Newtown Babe Ruth Travel Softball tryouts will be held at the Treadwell Turf Field on March 29. Any player interested in trying out for the U10 (born in 1997-98) or U12 (1995-96) team must be a registered member of Newtown Babe Ruth Softball.

The U10 tryouts will be held from 12 to 2 pm and the U12 tryouts will be from 2 to 4 pm. The rain date is April 5.

12U Premier Fastpitch Softball Tryouts

The Wicked, a 12U fastpitch softball team, will hold tryouts on March 29 from 10 am to noon on the turf field at Treadwell Park.

All interested players should plan on attending. Players will be evaluated primarily on their ability to hit, field in both the infield and outfield, and run bases. Pitchers and catchers will be evaluated at the end of the tryout. Please confirm via email: coachK@thewickedsoftball.com. your daughter’s attendance at the tryout and/or if you need directions to the field. The rain date will be April 5 at 10 am on the turf field.
