Jennie Hudak

Attended Lands End School

Jennie Hudak, 97, formerly of Monroe, died September 9 at the Lutheran Home in Southbury, where she had resided since 1998. Mrs Hudak was the wife of the late Joseph Hudak.

She was born in the Hawleyville section of Newtown on February 8, 1910, a daughter of Paul and Anna (Urda) Feli. Mrs Hudak attended Lands End School in Hawleyville. Following her marriage she moved to Monroe where she ran her family’s poultry farm.

Mrs Hudak was a devout Catholic. She loved gardening, and receiving things that she had ordered from the Sears catalog.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Mae Hudak of  Monroe; seven nephews, Francis and George Feli of Newtown, Richard Hudak of Maryland, Robert Hudak of Monroe, George Hudak of West Virginia, Stephen Felia of Ledyard, and Paul Feli of New York; three nieces, Beatrice Sandone of Sandy Hook, Theresa Fuller of Newtown, and Ethelynn Feli of Danbury. Mrs Hudak was predeceased by three brothers, Stephen Felia, Sr, Paul Feli, Jr, and Peter Feli.

Funeral services were held September 13 from Honan Funeral Home in Newtown and in St Rose of Lima Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment followed in St Michael Cemetery, Stratford.
