Programs About Elder Issues

DANBURY — A program about the legal issues of providing for a person with memory loss will be presented at Almost Family, 52 Federal Road, on Tuesday, November 16, from 7 to 8:30 pm. The program is free and open to the public.

The presenter will be an elder care attorney, Dick Fisher, of Cacace, Tusch & Santagata.

On Wednesday, November 17, “How to Handle the Holiday Season,” a workshop for families and friends dealing with Alzheimer and dementia-related diseases, will be presented by Sunrise Assisted Living of Wilton and the Alzheimer’s Association from 7:15 to 8:15 pm. On Tuesday, November 30, at 7 pm, the Greens At Cannondale will present “Hope for the Future,” guidelines for Alzheimer’s disease management, medical treatments, and practical tools for coping. Guest speakers will be social worker Roni Lang, director of the Geriatric Assessment Program, and Dr Barney Spivack, director of geriatric medicine, the Stamford Health System.
