Occupation: I am an accounting clerk. Formerly, I worked in the finance office of  town hall for six years with Ben Spragg. I am a Newtown High School graduate and attended some college classes.

How Long in Newtown: I lived here all my life until moving to Southbury 13 years ago.

Biggest Change Seen in Town: Growth in all the buildings, and losing our open fields and historic buildings. The traffic on Church Hill Road is terrific.

Family: My husband, Joseph, and I have been married for 14 years. I have a stepson, Joey, 20. Our son Adam, 13, is graduating from eighth grade; and our daughter Jillian is 10.

Pets: I have a yellow lab, Wishbone, who is 2½, and a tortoise shell cat, Sandy, who is also 2½.

Hobbies: I enjoy crocheting and reading.

Favorite Books and Authors: Danielle Steele.

Favorite TV Show: The Nanny – I still watch the reruns – and  ER.

Organizations: I am the new president of the Newtown Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. My parents, George and Carol Lockwood, and my sister, Cheryl, are also involved with VFW.  I am a member of PTO, and years ago I worked on the Commission on Aging with Joy Previdi.

Most Vivid Memory of Newtown: The duck pin bowling alley on Tinkerfield Road that was owned and run by Mini Grubisa and her son. I was on a league for years when I was in high school and as an adult. My mother was in the adult league. We had a banquet every year at the Blue Colony.

Favorite Vacation Spot: Strawberry Park in Preston. It’s a campground with so many activities, such as bingo, a bonfire, dances, horseshoes, swimming, a hot tub for adults, and activities for kids all day. It’s wonderful. We’re going for nine days soon.

Personal Philosophy: Being good to others reflects on me as a person and how others will respond or be to me. In bringing up children, I believe in being strict, but letting them be children. There are boundaries, but you can have fun. Also, education is important.
