Walk Along
Still River
DANBURY â Lillinonah Audubon Society, a chapter of National Audubon Society, will host a walk along Still River in Danbury on Saturday, June 14.
The trail offers a unique look at a river that is part of Danburyâs history. Long neglected and used as a dumping ground, the river has been cleaned up and is now considered a fishable and swimmable resource in the community. This walk will provide a chance to learn more about the river, which can still support and sustain an abundance of wildlife.
Participants should wear sturdy footgear, insect repellent, and sunscreen, and bring water and binoculars. The walk, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 9 am and last for about two hours. Call Barbara Starr at 748-2599 for meeting place and details.
