American Legion Holds Convention

STAMFORD –– The American Legion and its 35,000 members are holding their annual Department of Connecticut Convention at the Stamford Marriott on July 10–12.

Department Commander Boyd Saxton of Newtown was scheduled to open the convention at 2:30 pm on July 10. Stamford Mayor Daniel P. Malloy welcomed the legionnaires.

The speakers will include Dr David Tom from Hamden and Steve Robertson, director of the legislation committee for the American Legion in Washington, D.C.

The convention will conclude on Saturday with the election of new state officers.
