The Talking Violin: A Musical History

DANBURY — Area music lovers are in for a treat this weekend when the renowned violinist, singer, composer, recording artist, producer, author and educator Julie Lyonn Lieberman visits WCSU’s Ives Concert Hall.

On Sunday, July 11, Ms Lyonn Lieberman will be presenting “The Talking Violin,” a history of the violin from its arrival in America as a Celtic and classical instrument to its place today in blues, swing, jazz and more than a dozen other musical styles.

The event will begin at 7 pm, and admission is $10. Ives Concert Hall is at 181 White Street, on the university’s main campus. Call 837-8614 or 837-8486.
