Open Auditions: Adults For DCT Children’s Company

BRIDGEPORT — Downtown Cabaret Children’s Company will hold an open call for its upcoming season of professional musical theatre for young audiences on Tuesday, August 24, at 7 pm, at the theatre on Golden Hill Street in Bridgeport.

The 2004-05 season includes Phantom of the Opera, The Littlest Christmas Tree, Snow White, The Little Engine That Could and Pooh!

Directors are seeking adult lead actors and character actors, ages 25 to 45, who sing and move well. Also seeking teen actors age 13 to 18, who sing and move well for ensemble roles. They are also seeking one boy, age 10 to 13, to play Christopher Robin.

There are no roles available for girls under the age of 13.

Those auditioning should prepare two songs (16 bars, uptempo and ballad); bring sheet music (accompanist provided), picture and resume. Also be prepared to read from script and learn a simple dance combination.
