Three Vehicles

Police report a three-vehicle accident involving a box truck, a sedan, and a pickup truck about 4 pm October 25 near 99 South Main Street.

Motorist Anne Cody, 73, of Southbury, who was driving a 2002 Buick Century sedan southward on South Main Street, stopped to make a left turn into a driveway, police said. Southbound trucker Jonathan Lyons, 28, of Shelton, who was driving a 2007 International box truck, then struck the rear end of the Buick, police said.

That impact pushed the Buick into the northbound lane, where the Buick collided with a northbound 2003 Toyota Tundra pickup truck driven by James Dawson, 56, of Southbury, police said.

Newtown ambulance volunteers treated Cody at the scene, police said. Newtown Hook & Ladder firefighters went to the accident. Lyons received an infraction for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
