Spring Vacation Programs At Flanders
Spring Vacation Programs At Flanders
WOODBURY â Flanders Nature Center & Land Trust is offering an entire week of spring vacation adventure from Monday, April 16, through Friday, April 20. Children can be registered for one dayâs class, or for all five sessions.
Morning classes will meet from 9:30 am to noon for preschool youngsters, and afternoon classes for children attending grades K-5 will be from 1 to 4 pm.
Each day will offer a different topic. On Monday, âFrom Eggs to Legsâ will be the subject, where children will discover whatâs hatching at Flanders. On Tuesday, itâs âRabbits and their habits,â with live rabbits; Wednesday will be âSnakes Alive,â where children will see which snakes and lizards are visiting the nature center and learn some cool reptile facts.
On Thursday, the topic will be âFarming Fun,â which will include a hike to the North Barn to visit with all the new farm animals. If itâs not to muddy there will be a hayride.
Finally on Friday, there will be âWild and Wonderful,â where children will learn about mammals by looking at their tracks, bones, skulls and much more.
Meant to be a complement to a childâs learning, these classes will be an exciting outdoor adventure which will allow young people the opportunity to explore the natural world and help foster an understanding and connection with the environment.
Program fee for each class is $15 for member and $20 for nonmembers. Children should be dressed for the out-of-doors and bring along a snack for the hikes. Registration and pre-payment are required.
