Liver Foundation Walk Sept 23
Liver Foundation Walk Sept 23
EAST HARTFORD â Teams are forming all over Connecticut for a football-themed, 5k walk to draw attention to liver diseases that affect more than 25 million men, women, and children nationwide â one in ten Americans.
The walk, which drew 950 people and raised $98,000 for liver disease research and education last year, will take place at 9 am September 23 at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, home of the UConn Huskies.
People often associate liver disease with alcohol or drug abuse, but there are more than 100 diseases of the liver; many are fatal.
The Connecticut Chapter of the American Liver Foundation urges families, friends, businesses and civic groups to form teams and join the fight against diseases that often are silent killers.Â
The River 105.9-FM, WTNH-TV and Aetna are major sponsors of this yearâs walk. To register, call the Connecticut Chapter of the American Liver Foundation, 203-234-2022, or email her at msadler@liverfoundation.org.
