Lunch & Learn About Advance Care Planning
Lunch & Learn About Advance Care Planning
A free Lunch and Learn Program for the community titled, âAdvance Care Planning: What You Need to Know,â will be held Thursday, May 14, in the Lodge Room at Masonicare at Newtown.
Suzanne Rosenberg, MS, LCSW, Regional Hospice director for Masonicare Home Health & Hospice, will present the program. A complimentary lunch will be served at noon, and the program will begin at 12:15 pm.
In the past, advance care planning was often as simple as putting a few paragraphs in a will, but that is not always the case today. There are many important things families need to know, from the location of a safe deposit key to what type of medical care the patient wants â or doesnât want â if family members are unable to communicate. Ms Rosenberg will discuss what information and planning should be put in place to protect families of those under care.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to view Masonicareâs Hospice Art Exhibit, âCompleting the Journey, The Art of Hospice Care.â This multimedia exhibit depicts the use of the arts and massage in hospice care.
The exhibit will be on display at Masonicare at Newtown during the month of May.
Masonicare at Newtown sponsors the Lunch and Learn series to provide the public with important and timely health and wellness information. There is no fee for the program, but seating is limited.
Anyone wishing to attend should call the Masonicare HelpLine at 888-679-9997 to make a reservation.
