Giving Food and
Giving Thanks
To the Editor:
I would like to offer this week both a reminder and an acknowledgement.
Food pantries across the nation are facing increased demand for their resources. This is also true in Newtown.
This Saturday, May 9, we can all help out our own by putting out food donations at our mailboxes. The postal workers will collect the donations so make sure to put them out early. This event is the primary way for the Salvation Army/Social Services Food Pantry at Town Hall South to stock up for the year.
Please do not put out any expired or perishable items. Thank you, Newtown!
Also, this week is Teacher Appreciation Week and our schools are all hosting events to celebrate our dedicated teaching professionals. Behind every great school are great teachers and a great staff...and we are truly blessed here in Newtown.
Thank you to each and every person who works to make our school district one of excellence.
