Openings In Music Centre Groups
DANBURY â The Danbury Music Centre provides opportunities for community singers and instrumentalists to perform in the following groups: Danbury Symphony Orchestra, Danbury Concert Chorus, Danbury Community Orchestra and Danbury Preparatory String Orchestra.
Danbury Symphony Orchestra, under a series of guest conductors, rehearses Monday evenings. There are vacancies in all string sections and some wind sections.
Danbury Concert Chorus rehearses Tuesday evenings and is preparing for a performance of light, fun music including songs by Gershwin, Porter and Elvis Presley. The chorus is directed by Leslie Eckstein. There are openings in the soprano, alto, tenor and bass sections. No auditions are necessary.
Danbury Community Orchestra rehearses on Wednesday evenings and is preparing a program including Dvorakâs Symphony No 8, and pieces by Copland and Vivaldi. The orchestra is directed by Richard Brooks. There are vacancies in all instrumental sections, by audition only.
Danbury Preparatory String Orchestra rehearses on Thursday evenings and is directed by Glen Lebetkin. This is an intermediate-level student string ensemble. There are vacancies for violins, violas, cellos and basses.
