Life During 'Little House'
Life During âLittle Houseâ
BETHEL â Bethel Historical Society would like children to experience an afternoon of activities that will allow them to learn and experience what life was like during the mid to late 19th Century.
Children ages 5 and up are invited to participate in âA Laura Ingalls Wilder Program,â which will take place Saturday, February 12, from 12:30 to 3 pm. Explore the life of Ms Ingalls Wilder, best known for her series of Little House on the Prairie books, which recounted her life as a young girl on the Western frontier during the late 1800s.
Activities during the workshop will include candle dipping, baking, butter and doll making, stories, games and songs.
Cost is $15, and participants are encouraged to dress for life on the prairie.
Reservations are requested by February 7. Checks should be made out to Bethel Historical Society and mailed to Mary Ferri, 73 Plumtrees Road, Bethel CT 06801. Parents are asked to include their childâs name, their name and contact phone number, as well as a contact e-mail.
The workshop will be held at the historical societyâs headquarters, at 40 Main Street. Call Ms Ferri at 203-730-2726 for additional information.
