A Time For Storytelling

WASHINGTON — The Institute for American Indian Studies will host “A Time For Storytelling,” a special event suitable for all ages, on Saturday, November 24, at the museum, 38 Curtis Road.

“We tell our stories to entertain, but they do much more than that. They teach life’s important lessons — to young and old alike. Stories can explain the natural world around us and connect us to our past,” said Janis “Four Hearts Whispering” Us, who is of Mohawk-Shinnecock descent.

Four Hearts Whispering will offer delightful and heartwarming traditional Native American stories. The program will run from 1 to 2:30 pm, and will include a short intermission break where children will be invited to participate in a simple craft.

Cost is $5 for adults, $6 for children, and includes museum admission. Reservations are requested; call 860-868-0518. Visit IAISmuseum.org for additional information.
