Hawks Keep Spiking The Competition

Newtown High School’s girls’ volleyball team improved to 10-0 with wins over Brookfield on October 5 and Oxford on October 7. The Nighthawks had beaten all of their opponents by 3-0 scores heading into Wednesday’s match with Kolbe Cathedral in Bridgeport on Wednesday (after The Bee sports section went to press).

In the 3-0 (25-12, 25-19, 25-13) win over Brookfield, Emma Herring had nine of her team’s 23 kills. Abbey Doski compiled 11 of Newtown’s 28 digs and added six service aces. Jess Lynch compiled 18 assists.
