Tree Debris Pickup Along State Maintained Roads
Tree Debris Pickup Along State Maintained Roads
The State of Connecticut Debris Management Program began collecting tree-related debris on property abutting state-maintained roads on Saturday, November 5.
Property owners whose land runs along state-maintained roads may place all tree-related debris from the October 29 norâeaster (Winter Storm Alfred) five feet from the edge of pavement for pickup in the coming days and weeks. The debris should not be placed near, or obstruct access to, any utility poles or wires, fire hydrants, mailboxes, or overhanging trees.
The Stateâs Debris Management Program was developed to expedite debris cleanup related to storms like Alfred. The debris management contractor will continue to pick up the stockpiled debris through December 15. Only tree-related debris will be picked up at property along state-maintained roads.
A schedule of towns where pickups will take place will be posted as that schedule develops. For further information, including the schedule once it is made available, call the DOT Office of Communications at 860-594-3062 or visit www.ct.gov/dot.
