SUV Off Road
Police said that at about 7:45 pm on March 4, motorist Caroline Kingsley, 16, of 20 Maltbie Road was driving a 2003 Honda Pilot SUV southward on Brushy Hill Road, near its intersection with Cedar Hill Road, when a deer ran out in front of the vehicle.
Kingsley swerved to avoid a collision with the animal, but the Honda went off the road and struck a rock and some brush, police said.
Kingsley was not injured. Police said they verbally warned her for making a restricted turn and for failure to carry an automotive insurance identification card.
Warrant
Police report they charged Anne Robbins, 57, of 14 Pond Brook Road on a warrant on March 5 with failure to respond to an infraction and with allowing a dog to roam.
Police said that Robbins had not responded to an infraction ticket that was issued to her last August 4 for allegedly allowing a dog to roam, so a court warrant was issued against her.
Robbins was released on $92 bail for a March 20 court appearance, police said.
Vandalism
Police said they are investigating an incident in which an unspecified motor vehicle was vandalized while parked in the parking lot near the CVS store at Newtown Shopping Village at 6 Queen Street at about 7 pm on March 4. Police ask anyone with knowledge of the incident to contact them at the police station at 3 Main Street, telephone, 203-426-5841.
Moving Violations
Police report they spotted a 2001 Ford Explorer SUV driven by Expedito Gutierrez, 49, of Danbury traveling southward on Hawleyville Road at 53 miles per hour in a 35-mph zone at about 4:50 pm on March 6, so they stopped the vehicle to investigate.
Gutierrez was charged with traveling too fast and with driving with a suspended vehicle registration, police said. Gutierrez was released on a written promise to appear in court on March 20.
Brushy Hill DUI
About 7:40 pm on March 6, police responded to a report of a suspicious motor vehicle parked on the roadway on Brushy Hill Road, near Dug Hill Road.
After investigating, police charged motorist William Sullivan, 46, of Easton with driving under the influence, improper parking, failure to carry a driverâs license, and failure to have automotive insurance.
While in custody at the police station, police additionally charged Sullivan with third-degree criminal mischief and with three counts of interfering with police.
Police said they held Sullivan on $500 bail for a March 7 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
