Nominees Sought For Newtown Business Of The Year
Nominees Sought For Newtown Business Of The Year
Through March 16, nominations are being accepted by the Newtown Chamber of Commerce and the Newtown Rotary Club for the honorary 2011 Business of the Year Award. All Newtown residents and business professionals are strongly encouraged to make nominations for any business that has shown exemplary service and support to Newtown.
Now in its ninth year, this recognition program acknowledges two companies that make considerable contributions to the Newtown community through financial donations and in-kind services. In addition to receiving the title and an award, the Newtown Rotary Club and Newtown Chamber will each donate $100 to the winnerâs charity or organization of choice. Â
Prior honorees include Newtown Savings Bank, Associated Refuse, Preferred Insurance Services, T.R. Paul, Sandy Hook Wine & Liquors, Bulk Materials International, and The Newtown Bee.
Nominating companies will be grouped into two categories; large and small. The large business category includes companies with 15 or more employees while the small business category is for companies with less than 15 employees.
The winners of both categories will be announced at the Business of the Year Awards dinner on Monday, March 26, at 6:30 pm at the Inn at Newtown.
Every person who sends in a nomination form will be entered in a raffle to win a bottle of wine. The nomination form can be downloaded off the chamber website, www.newtown-ct.com.
This event is open to Chamber of Commerce and Rotary members and anyone interested in learning more about these groups. Cost to attend is $25 per person, and includes dinner. A cash bar will also be available.
Anyone interested in attending should contact Alice Baye at 203-426-2695 by March 23.
