Conn. Utilities Keep Promise To Restore Power
HARTFORD (AP) â Connecticutâs two major utilities have kept their promise to restore power to more than 95 percent of their customers, but nearly 10,000 residents and businesses were still without power more than a week after Superstorm Sandy pounded the Northeast.
Connecticut Light & Power reported that less than one percent of affected customers were without power Tuesday morning. United Illuminating says 2,241 customers, or a fraction of ione percent, remained without power. At its peak last Tuesday immediately after the storm, 625,000 customers were without power.
