Thomas G. Carp

Thomas Gene Carp, 58, of Dorman Road, Oxford, the beloved husband of Agnes (Marks) Cicarelli Carp, entered into eternal rest on November 20 at Griffin Hospital, Derby, after a long illness.

He is survived by a beloved son, Robert Cicarelli and his wife, Rebecca, of Sandy Hook.

He was born December 5, 1941, in Bridgeport, son of the late William and Angie (DeFinis) Carp.

He was the owner of the Thomas Carp Insurance Agency and Computor Tutor of Oxford. He was a past president of the Oxford Businessmen’s Association and a member and past officer of the Life Underwriters Training Council. Tom was a resident of Oxford for 25 years and had previously resided in Danbury. The computer was his hobby and business. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Besides his wife, Agnes, and son, he leaves another son, Michael Cicarelli and his wife, Tanya, of Roxbury; beloved daughters, Nancy Marie Hallee of Waterbury, Lucille Spoldi and her husband, Michael, of West Haven, Kathy Wilson of North Branford, and Chrisann Cicarelli of West Haven; a beloved sister, Janice Straw of Prospect; nine cherished grandchildren; and two loving nieces and a loving nephew.

A prayer service will be held on Saturday, November 25, at 10 am in the Chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street (Route 67), Seymour, with the Rev Dominic Valla, pastor of St Thomas the Apostle Church of Oxford, officiating. Interment with military honors will be at Mountain Meadows Cemetery, Seymour.

Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Friday, November 24, from 6 to 8 pm.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the National Scleroderma Foundation through the funeral home.
