Catherine Ann Ryan

Catherine Ann (Behr) Ryan, 83, formerly of New Fairfield, died on September 3 in Danbury. She was the wife of the late John J. Ryan.

Mrs Ryan was born in New York City on July 6, 1921, a daughter of the late Harold and Anna (Murphy) Behr.

Mrs Ryan is survived by six children, Maureen Powers and her husband Edward of Newtown, John Ryan and his wife Christa of Olympia, Wash., Thomas Ryan and his wife Barbara of Teaneck, N.J., Catherine Quinn and her husband Anthony of Garden City, N.Y., Jean VonAncken and her husband William of Hillsdale, N.Y., and Arlene Callahan and her husband James of New Fairfield; a brother Thomas Behr of Ocean Side, L.I., N.Y.; two sisters, Gloria Razzetti of New Hyde Park, N.Y, and Doris Hklawitzca of Port St Lucie, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, John and Harold Behr; a sister, Ann Peters; and a grandson, Michael Quinn.

A resident of New Fairfield since 1968, she was a parishioner of St Edward the Confessor Church. Mrs Ryan was a devoted mother and homemaker who will be sadly missed by her family.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on September 7 at St Edward the Confessor Church. Interment was in Mountain View Cemetery, New Fairfield.

The Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury was in charge of arrangements.
