Advent Lessons And Carols

WASHINGTON GREEN — “Hark! What a sound, and too divine for hearing,” a service of Advent Lessons and Carols, will be presented on Sunday, December 12, at St John’s Episcopal Church in Washington.

Music by the Litchfield Hills Brass Ensemble will begin at 4:40, followed by readings and music proclaiming the coming of Christ. There will be Advent hymns for the congregation, choir, with brass quintet, timpani and organ. Carols by Vaughan Williams, Ord, Poston, Farjeon, Goldschmidt, Rubbra, and Radcliffe will be among those included in the service.

A freewill offering will be received. The service will be followed by a reception in the Parish House. All are invited.
