Andrew B. Cochrane

Andrew B. Cochrane, Jr, 87, of Newtown, died on November 7 at Mediplex Nursing Home in Southbury.

Born in New York City, December 29, 1911, Mr Cochrane was the only son of the late Andrew and Anne Cochrane. Mr Cochrane was a resident of Newtown for 21 years and Stamford for 25 years.

The Cochranes moved to Newtown in 1978 and were active in Meals on Wheels and FISH. He also enjoyed sports, reading and travel.

Mr Cochrane is survived by his wife, Verna M., of 58 years; a sister, Mrs. James E. Fogarty, of New York City, N.Y.; two sons, Andrew of Canton, GA and Robert of St Croix, V.I.; a daughter, Lynn DeLuke of Ridgefield; and eight grandchildren.

Mr Cochrane was a graduate of New York University and employed as an officer in the financial division with Citibank, NA, in New York City, until he retired in 1974.

The Rev William Kessler, pastor of Community Presbyterian Church, conducted services November 10 at the Meeting House.
