Roger Williams College of Bristol, Rhode Island, ran its women’s softball record to 9-6 with six consecutive victories in the Commonwealth Coast Conference. Amanda Morici, a 1999 graduate of Newtown High School, has appeared in six games thus far and is 1-for-1 with a pair of runs scored.

Lauren Coulter of Newtown had 11 top-three finishes this past winter for the Hartwick College women’s swim team. Coulter, a 2000 graduate of Newtown High School, finished in first-place three times, second-place six times, and third-place twice. She was a member of the Hartwick 200-yard freestyle team which finished 17th and the 400-yard freestyle relay team with finished 18th at the New York State Women’s Collegiate Athletic Association Division III championships in February. Individually, she was 21st in the 100-yard freestyle, 22nd in the 200-yard freestyle and 23rd in the 50-yard freestyle.
