Adventure Racing Mini-Camp

Southbury Bike/Walk
The Tour de Tribury will be held Saturday, September 29, in Southbury and will not only feature bicycle races of 10, 25 and 50+ miles, but will also include a 2.2-mile walk. Registration is at 7:30 am for the 50-mile ride, 9 am for the 25-mile ride, 10 am for 10-mile ride and 11 am for the walk. The Tour de Tribury is sponsored by area churches and synagogues through the Southbury Interfaith Social Concerns Committee, as well as the Greater Waterbury Cycling Club. Last year, the Bike-a-Thon raised over $6,000, with every penny going to the Southbury Fuel Bank. That enabled over 100 families to obtain assistance with their fuel bills. Riders and walkers of all ages are invited to join in the fun. All that is required is $30 worth of pledges per person or family, a bicycle, and a helmet. All routes start and finish at Sacred Heart Church, off exit 14 on I-84. The first 125 entrants receive a Tour de Tribury T-shirt. Call 264-9225 for more information.
Fall Girls Basketball
The Wescon Fillies fall basketball league will meet Sunday, September 16, through Sunday, November 11 (no games on Sunday, October 7) at the Danbury PAL building on Hayestown Road in Danbury. Players in grades 9 through 12 will participate at 10 am while players in grades 6 through 8 will participate at 1 pm. Cost is $75 per person. Fall Basketball Leagues
Triple Double Enterprises, Inc., has announced the formation of fall basketball leagues for players who would fit into the 30-and-over and 40-and-over divisions. The 30-and-over league will play on Monday nights while the 40-and-over league will play on Wednesday nights, both at the Police Activities League (PAL) facility in Danbury. Travel Basketball Coaches
Coaches for all age levels, 5th through 8th grade (girls and boys), are needed for the Newtown Parks and Recreation travel basketball program. Anyone interested should call John Giorno at 270-9579. Also, a tournament for travel basketball players is being organized and anyone interested in helping should call Mr Giorno or Jack Shpunt at 426-1935.
Pomperaug Golf Classic
