It's Showtime For Ridgefield Chorale
Itâs Showtime For Ridgefield Chorale
RIDGEFIELD â Seventy-six trombones will come alive as the 65 members of The Ridgefield Chorale present âItâs Showtime!â on Saturday, November 22, at 7:30 pm. The concert will be at Veterans Park School, on Governor Street in Ridgefield.
Under the direction of coloratura soprano Daniela Sikora, and accompanied by Gina Wilson and The Ridgefield Swing Band, the production will offer stage music from Gilbert and Sullivan to current Broadway musicals.Â
The chorale is the only vocal group in the area that produces entertaining shows of pops, Broadway, and swing tunes, with an occasional dash of classical, for the enjoyment of both singers and audience members â hence the choraleâs motto âThe Pops Chorale Thatâs Not Afraid to Take On the Classics.â
For this monthâs production, Ms Sikora has selected arrangements that feature the choraleâs five-part harmony, and the professional talents of pianist Gina Wilson and the Ridgefield Swing Band, including âHello Dolly,â âSomethingâs Comingâ and âTonightâ from West Side Story, a medley from Beauty and the Beast, âToo Darn Hotâ from Kiss Me, Kate, and âYou Canât Stop the Beatâ from Hairspray, among others.
In celebration of Ridgefield Libraryâs centennial celebration âRidgefield Reads:Â The Wonderful Wizard of Oz,â the chorale will also perform a ten-minute medley of music from The Wizard of Oz.
Tickets for âItâs Showtime!â are $15 for adults, $5 for seniors and students, and free for children ages 5 and younger. Tickets may be purchased from a chorale member or at the door the night of the show.
