DANIEL GREENE ‘GAMES’ AT GALLERY HENOCH w/1 cut

avv/gs set 9/14 #712430

NEW YORK CITY — “Daniel Greene: Games” will be on view October 11–November 3 at Gallery Henoch.

Greene has influenced a generation of American painters in the range of his subject matter and in his technique. His new series, “Games,” grows out of his continuing interest in the interface between art and life.

Since 1990, Greene has used the New York City subways as a source of inspiration, rendering their complex mosaics and aging walls with characteristically rich coloration and attention to detail. His aptitude for composition is discernable in these works, as it is in his still lifes and figurative paintings, where the interplay of abstract design elements such as symmetry, space, light and contrast provide structure for the realist surfaces of the canvas.

Green is a painter of portraits and intricate still lifes and figure compositions. His work hangs in more than 500 public and private collections. In 1969, Greene was elected to the National Academy of Design, and, elected to the Pastel Society Hall of Fame in 1983.

Gallery Henoch is at 555 West 25th Street. For more information, 917-305-0003 or www.galleryhenoch.com.
