Candlewood Camera Club Snaps Up Library’s Exhibition Space

Members of Candlewood Camera Club are exhibiting some of their favorite photographs at C.H. Booth Library through the end of the month.

Forty-seven images, most of them in color, have been selected for the show. Most are available for purchase.

Candlewood Camera Club is a group of photo enthusiasts from the greater Danbury area whose club focuses on fostering photography as a hobby, art or vocation through the sharing of knowledge and experience.

The club meets twice each month at 7:30 pm at the VFW Hall at 5 Byron Street, which runs between Route 6/Danbury Road and Triangle Street (just over one mile west of Wal-Mart and the Holiday Inn).

The first meeting of each month, on the second Tuesday, is set aside for a competition between members’ color slides and prints, including digital, color, or black and white. The second meeting, on the fourth Tuesday, varies greatly and can feature a lecture, workshop or even a photo shoot.

The club was founded in 1948 and is a member of New England Camera Club Council and the Connecticut Association of Photographers, and actively participates in programs and competitions in those organizations.

The exhibition at Booth Library can be viewed any time the library is open and the meeting room is not in use for a meeting or program. Regular library hours are Monday through Thursday from 9:30 am to 8 pm, Friday from 11 am to 5 pm, Saturday from 9:30 am to 5 pm, and Sunday from noon to 5 pm.

The library is at 25 Main Street. Call 426-4533 or visit CHBoothLibrary.org for additional information.
