Beloved Mother And Grandmother
Lois M. (Butler) Pratt, 75, wife of the late Roland C. Pratt, of Newtown, died March 10 at her home, surrounded by her family, after a brief illness. She was born in Bridgeport, May 24, 1933.
Mrs Pratt was a resident of Newtown since 1953. She worked the midnight to eight shift as a dispatcher for the Town of Newtown for 30 years and was presented with a certificate of recognition for her years of service.
She was an active member of the St Johnâs Episcopal Church in Sandy Hook for years, but more recently attended the Trinity Episcopal Church in Newtown.
She was widely known throughout the community for her volunteer work at the Senior Center and Ashlar of Newtown (Masonicare at Newtown). She was an avid bowler and loved doing crafts. She was a member of the TOPS organization and a Ladies Auxiliary member of VFW Post 308. But most of all, she loved Roland. Now she will be with him for eternity but sadly missed here by her family forever.
Mrs Pratt is survived by two sons, Joseph Pratt and his fiancée, Amy Charles, of Newtown and Robert Pratt and his wife, Linda, of Patrick Springs, Va.; three stepchildren; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Three brothers, John, Donald, and Raymond Butler, predeceased Mrs Pratt.
Funeral services will be held at the Trinity Episcopal Church, Saturday, March 14, at 11 am, with burial immediately following at the Newtown Village Cemetery. Friends may call at Honan Funeral Home, Main Street, Friday, March 13, from 5 to 8 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hospice Foundation of America, 1621 Connecticut Ave NW, #300, Washington DC 20009.
