Help Carolee Get Her Job Back

To the Editor:

If I had known about it beforehand, I would have attended Monday’s meeting at the library concerning Carolee Mason. I join Monica Roberto in saying: “We respectfully request the town reconsider its decision to terminate Carolee Mason.”

I have lived in Newtown for almost 30 years. It is an understatement to say that I was shocked to read in The Bee that the town has fired Carolee. I long thought that we were fortunate to have such a dedicated, hardworking person in the position of animal control officer. I cannot fathom what would cause the town to make such a decision. The News Times today provides a little more information, but this only further convinces me that the town has made a terrible mistake.

 Please let me know what I can do to help right this situation. I will do whatever I can to support the growing number of people in town who are intent on helping Carolee get her job back.
