Matt Slattery

Slattery is a senior captain and midfielder on the Newtown High School boys’ soccer team which was unbeaten heading into this week’s action.

Favorite part about playing: “I just like playing with the guys. We all get along pretty well.”

Toughest aspect: “The physical part – keeping up with everything, especially at midfield. It’s a lot of back and forth.”

Team he roots for: English Premier League team Liverpool.

Dream job: Something having to do with soccer, such as coaching.

Favorite class: Anatomy.

Food of choice: Pizza.
