Feltch, Modzelewski Stand Out On Collegiate Fields

Former Newtown High School athletes Libby Feltch and Ally Modzelewski have played integral roles on their respective college teams this fall — Feltch as a field hockey player at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY, and Modzelewski on the soccer field at the University of Massachusetts — Boston.

Feltch was awarded honorable mention by the Liberty League for her defensive saves. She earned a No. 1 ranking in defensive saves for her conference, a No. 2 ranking for her league, and is ranked No. 6 in NCAA Division III field hockey for defensive saves.

Modzelewski helped the University of Massachusetts soccer team reach the Little East Conference championship game against Western Connecticut State University this past weekend. Modzelewski, despite only being a freshman, started in 17 of the 19 games in which she played and was named to the LEC Second Team.
