Seeking Writers For A Literary Reading
DANBURY â Danbury Library will host an open reading of poetry and literature by local poets and writers on Sunday, October 21, from 2 to 4:30 pm.
The event, titled âFrom Our Hands to Your Ears,â will offer an opportunity for local poets and writers age 16 and up to hone their craft and read their work aloud. It will be a great opportunity for attendees to discover new talent and hear new and interesting work.
Writers are invited to submit pieces for consideration by Saturday, September 22. If approved for a reading, individuals will be contacted by e-mail or phone by Sunday, October 14. There is no charge for participation. Readings will be limited to ten minutes.
Those wishing to submit pieces for consideration can email their piece(s) to FromOurHandsToYourEars@gmailcom or drop it off at the libraryâs Ask Me! Desk. Detailed submission guidelines are available in the library or the libraryâs website at danburylibrary.org.
Area school students and teachers are also being provided with information about the event, including Danbury, Ridgefield, New Milford, Brookfield and Shepaug Valley High Schools, private schools in the area, including Immaculate, Wooster, Kent and Canterbury schools, and the English departments at Western Connecticut State University and Naugatuck Valley Community College.
