Trinity Preschoolers Decorate Holiday Tree Ornaments For The Animals
After being inspired by the reading of Ted Randâs illustrated book Night Tree, Trinity Day School preschoolers set to work on Friday, December 17.
At stations the students created tree ornaments to bring home and place on a tree of their choice to feed birds, squirrels, and other outside animals.
Night Tree is about a family that forgoes its regular Christmas tree tradition to decorate a live tree in the forest for the animals.
Ingredients used to create the ornaments included dog biscuits, oranges, bird seeds, Cheerios, popcorn, and shortening. One decoration used shortening to stick bird seed to pine cones, and another dipped half-oranges in bird seed.
