10 Year Olds

The Newtown Tigers have gotten used to the close games, so a 5-4 win over Team #12 in Fall Babe Ruth Baseball action recently was nothing new. It was their eighth one-run game – and 10th win – of the season. In that win, Alan Hubbard, Nick Urso and David Rodriguez all went 2-for-3 at the plate. Graham Moller also stroked a hit. Jeff David and Rodriguez combined on the mound for the win.

In a 13-12 win over Brookfield Red, Francis Oggeri drove in three runs and scored three others; in a 21-7 win over Team #11, Hubbard, Urso, Davis and Rodriguez all had three hits; in a 7-1 win over Team #14, Rodriguez had a hit and scored twice; in a 10-9 win over Brookfield Red, Urso, Rodriguez, David and William Frampton all had two hits and two runs scored; in a 9-8 win over Team #11, Davis was 3-for-3 with a pair of runs scored; in an 8-7 win over Brookfield, Moller and Rodriguez had two hits and two runs each; in an 8-2 win over Brookfield, Joe Greenfield pitched three innings of no-hit ball; and in a 14-14 tie with Team #14, Frampton, Matt Saxonmeyer, Oggeri, Urso and Davis all had two hits and two runs scored.
