BETHEL â The Emerald City Café will host a special event called âAngels Among Us,â featuring artwork by local artists including Karen Dunn (leather sculpture) and Lynn Beaulieu (charcoal and pastels), on Sunday, July 16. Hors dâoeuvres and cocktails will be served, and a silent auction of artwork and goods donated by local merchants will be featured.
Also appearing will be Trudy Griswold, the author of Angelspeake: How to Talk With Your Angels, who will be signing copies of her book. Trudy has been featured on programs including Good Morning America (ABC-TV), The Leeza Show (CBS-TV) and Good Day, New York (FOX-TV). Recently, PBS has purchased the rights to produce and air a long video of her most recent workshop, âSpeaking with Your Angels: A Guide,â which was done with her sister Barbara Mark of San Diego.
Renowned for her ability to translate âangel messages,â Ms Griswold will also offer readings and interpretations of âAngel Messagesâ to interested individuals.
Joan Verniero, the author of You Can Call Me Willy: A Story for Children about AIDS, will also be on hand Sunday to sign copies of her book. Ms Vernieroâs book was selected by ABC-TVâs Good Morning America as part of its âMillennium Time Capsule,â the only childrenâs book so honored. Currently she is co-authoring, with Doreen Rappaport, a collection of American Revolution short stories to be published by HarperCollins Childrenâs Books in 2002.
âAngels Among Usâ is being held to support the work of Bread & Roses, a not-for-profit organization based in Stamford which supports people struggling to live well with HIV and AIDS through direct care, outreach, advocacy and education.
