FAIRFIELD â The Fairfield University School of Nursing is breaking new ground with its recently approved graduate program in Health Care Law. The State of Connecticut Department of Higher Education gave the clearance for a masterâs degree in nursing in an innovative Health Care Systems Track with concentrations in Health Care Management and Health Care Law. The new program is a collaborative effort of the School of Nursing and the Charles F. Dolan School of Business.
âWe are very please to be offering our advanced students a program that will allow them to develop and implement strategies to reduce liability and improve compliance and quality outcomes in health care,â Dr Gayle Sullivan, a nurse-attorney with the School of Nursing, said. âWith the changes in the delivery of our health care systems, itâs a program whose time has come.â
The other concentration, in Health Care Management, prepares the professional nurse to manage organized healthcare services. Courses will be offered in Marketing, Human Resources Management, Leadership, and Managed Care and Case Management.
