Newtown Youth Servicesâ Outstanding Youth Awards
Newtown Youth Services held its 15th annual Outstanding Youth Awards ceremony May 22 honoring 40 youth for their involvement in their schools, community, and families throughout the year.
This year the agency received more nominations than ever before. Students can be honored for demonstrating strong, healthy values, and for the use of their talents and abilities in a positive way. The ceremony is part of the nonprofit agencies âCelebrate Youth Festival.â
The following students were honored this year: Lola Aldrich, Carl Bergquist, Katelyn Bolmer, Michael Brill, Dave Bunger, Amanda Caposella, Tara Cerreta, Justin Cherry, Kelly Coney, Amy Doyle, Jenn Dunseith, Sara Edgerton, Talia Fuppiano, Amy Fazekas, Jake Feinstein, Rebekah Foote, Emily Goldman, Michelle Grimaldi, Dana Happel, Alex Hoolehan, Colleen Kelly, Greg Korotash, Chris Laroque, Anthony Lucia, Devon Manfredonia, Rachel Martino, Katie McNulty, Christopher Miller, Mathew Miller, Jeanmarie Morlath, Kasia Orzechowski, Michelle Palladino, Nicole Potucek, Melissa Russell, Matt Schmitt, William Simmons, Jack Sparacino, Elana Tenenbaum, Allura Thompson, and Steven Truitt.
The students were honored for their help with the homework club at Newtown Middle School, work completed for the NYS Job Bank, summer work camp, youth advisory member, being a good friend, service to others, leadership skills, community service, and being a good sibling.
