Local Equestrians Strut Their Stuff At Recruiting Combine

Monica Arienzo and Jill Medinger, both students at Wooster School and Newtown residents, were invited to compete on July 28 with high school students from around the country at the College Bound Invitational at the University of Florida in Gainesville. The annual event enables Intercollegiate Equestrian team coaches to view and recruit prospects. Over 60 riders competed, both on the flat and over fences, following the rules and format of intercollegiate competition. The program was also professionally videotaped and sent to college teams across the United States. Both girls won ribbons and have already begun receiving their first contacts from coaches.
