Lois C.          Woodward

Lois C. Woodward, 85, died March 4 at the Inn at Quail Haven in Pinehurst, N.C.

Born in Cambridge, Mass., to the late Charles and Sally Cawley, she was a 1941 graduate of Smith College. For 38 years, she was a resident of Newtown and was involved in the activities of the Republican Party. Upon moving to the Sandhills, she was a member of the Whispering Pines Country Club and was president of the Ninettes.

She was preceded in death by her son, Stephen M. Woodward.

She is survived by her husband, Sherman “Woody” Woodward; her son, Peter C. Woodward of Austin, Texas; and three grandchildren: Diana Woodward, Michelle Woodward, and Jessie Woodward.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 14, at 1 pm, at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Southern Pines, N.C., with Rev Fred Thomas and Rev Talmage Bandy officiating. Burial will follow in the church gardens.
